I’m Moving!

As most of you know, Dean and I moved last week to a new apartment in Brea, OC.  It’s a tiny, little studio with all of 500 sq. ft, but we love it!  I’ll post some pictures of our new place soon - I even get a special space for crafting.  :)

Anyway, as we’ve moved on to a new place (really only 20 min. away from the old place, but that also means 20 min. closer to work for Dean!), I’ve decided that it’s time to move on to a new place with this blog as well.  It’s been a joy blogging at beccandean.com for the duration of our whole wedding planning process, but let’s face it - Dean doesn’t blog.

So this will be my very last post at beccandean.com, and future posts will only be at lavender’s blue, where I’ll continue to write about our day-to-day lives in addition to my crafty endeavors and creative inspirations.  Thanks for reading and hope to see you at lavender’s blue!

Lots of love,

Go Team Canada!

I would love to wear one of these while I cheer on the Canadians at the Olympics next week! :)

Too bad all the best colors are out of stock. :(

Crazy for Izze

IZZES at my wedding

IZZES at my wedding

Anybody who knows me well (or went to my wedding!) knows that I love IZZE drinks! :)  There’s something irresistible about the bubbly, fruity, all-natural soda that makes my insides and outsides giggle with delight every time I drink one.  Whenever I go to Starbucks, I choose IZZE over a coffee drink any day.  (At only 120 calories with no refined sugars or artificial flavors, you should too!)

Anyway, when a friend told me about IZZE’s free t-shirt giveway, I knew I had to get one. :)  Many weeks later, I’ve finally received my t-shirt!  Now I can be dorky and wear my IZZE shirt while I drink my IZZES.  :D

Colors in the Kitchen

I was making stir-fry the other day and couldn’t resist running to grab my camera as I threw these peppers into the wok!  They almost burned as I was snapping away.  So worth it!

Busy Day

It’s been one busy day filled with errands!  Luckily, the sun was finally out today, so I didn’t have to run through the rain. Here’s my to-do list for today.  Just waiting on my last item! :)

Return things to Walmart. Check.

Deposit checks at bank. Check.

Get cashier’s check from bank for our new apartment! Check.

Pick up items for new apartment from store. Check.

Get gas from Costco. Check.

Mail packages at post office. Check.

Pick up contacts from optometrist. Check.

Wait for my sister to arrive home and call me.

And this is completely off-topic, but I’ll leave you with this picture of some stinky tofu I tried when our friend Daniel was in town this week!  It was my first time trying stinky tofu.  It definitely smelled a lot worse than it tasted; the taste was actually pretty good.  The outside was lightly fried and crispy, while the inside was semi-firm.  It was served with a side of kimchi, but I’m not sure if that’s standard.

A Few of my Favorite Things

Some goodies I received for Christmas this year!  Can’t wait to use them all. :)

simple sewing by Lotta Jansdotter from my sis, a hand-knit scarf from my cousin Diana, and a super cool plate in the shape of an artist’s palette from my dear friend Esther! :)

A&J Wedding

While we were in Phoenix over Christmas break, we had the pleasure of attending the wedding of our friends Aletheia and Josiah.  Aletheia is super crafty and Josiah’s an industrial designer, so their wedding was filled with gorgeous DIY details at every turn!  From their self-designed letterpress invitations to their ruffly pomanders to their goccoed cocktail napkins, everything was simply beautiful.

our table name - Taliesin West (Frank Lloyd Wright’s School of Architecture)!  I like to think this wasn’t just coincidence and that it was meant just for me (despite the 9 other people who were also seated at that table…)! ;)

and I’ll leave you with this “artistic” shot that Dean worked so hard all night trying to capture! :)

Christmas Crafts

I was kept busy all December crafting gifts for my family and friends.  Here are some of my favorites:

kitchen set for my sister (for her new home/kitchen) - reversible apron, dish towel, and pot holders

appliqued mushroom dish towels for friends - this project was really fun because I got to pick different patterns and colors to fit each friend’s personality

Merry Christmas!!

Wishing all our friends, family, and loved ones a blessed Christmas!
